“Clean” the whole system to find the primitive sound quality

2015-02-09

Clean system is not only simply a new external device but also the most important is cleaning audio signal link. The vision devices, head of cable, loudspeaker bond, and lead are important parts to be interested and cleaned properly. After a period of using the system, you feel sound quality tends to go down, sometimes a glare. Maybe you will wonder if you bought bad things or not. In fact, you bought good ones but simply because the process of oxygen and place in the first vision of connecting devices has corrupted the primitive sound quality of the system.

Why should clean the sound system?

Sound signal link in a system is from the source of CD/LP/Tape through pre-amplification, amplification areas and then to speaker. On the way, signal via connected visions and speaker bond which are the "sensitive" point that the outside environment can impact and influence on quality of sound. After a period of using, these exposed points will be dirty; even can be corroded by pollution of the listening room. Causes of pollution are often smoke, high environmental humidity, hands sweat (especially salt sweat) when direct contact with the head of sight and loudspeaker bond. All these causes are promoting occurrence of chemical reactions at connected stations, speeding up the process of oxygen and corrosion. When exposed surfaces are dirty, this phenomenon will affect on the performance of the system, causing glare and it is very uncomfortable.

Besides, with studio sound system, because there are many connected visions (in speaker, ampli, microphone, mixer, etc.), so only after a short time, if does not clean properly, audio version quality will be reduced remarkably. Besides reducing the quality of sound, video devices are connected through RCA, S-Video, Component will affect on the image quality if they are not clean.

For clean the system, at first, you need to dismantle all connection wires, including source wires. Clean top wires and plugs in a simple way: Use fabrics to clean. Generally, you will see some exposed points will be oxygen and dull the metal surface. For high- class RCA, batteries are often split drain and the around is also cut many drains, you should plug the top wire and turn several ones around RCA of equipment. Therefore, you removed the oxygen surface at both the exposed part of top wire and connectivity entrance of device. With speaker wire, besides of cleaning the top wires, if you use the loudspeaker to have two or more, you should dismount and clean connective metal bars (usually a copper), then block it as before.
Finally, you should clean the fuse in equipment where there is direct contact between the metal to metal. Sometimes, the fuse to be manufactured outside the chassis with a Fuse word, but sometimes you may have to remove the cover and carefully observe to see it. Cleaning operation is very simple. You get to remove fuse, then clean both end and metal part in the center.

After cleaning the entire of jack, speaker pale, and fuse, you will see clearly the sound quality has been improved. However, this situation only lasts about 3 months because in later, the oxygen phenomenon reoccurs in connectors, especially in countries with tropical climate such as Viet Nam, this process will happen faster. Thus, every few months, you must plug again. With simple systems this is not too complicated; but if a system which includes much large equipment or when you own two, three different systems, the clean of each connector and open every device will take a lot of time and actually become a burden.
To solve this problem, you can use a kind of special solution which has ability to protect the metal surface from the oxygen phenomenon. Currently, the market just has a unique solution - Solution of Van Den Hul. This solution is an entirely inert one and used to cover the metal surface. This cover will prevent the chemical reaction occurring and keep clean metal surface. It helps signal line run through places where there is smooth contact between metal and metal, and not be affected by the oxygen factor, causing atmospherics at high frequency. Solution has ability to protect your system in a very long time.
